Ilmira Rinatovna Gilmutdinova

Head of the department, leading researcher, Ph.D. (Medicine), transfusiologist
Main areas of research activities
  • Preclinical studies at the cellular level in vitro

    Study on fibroblasts, mesenchymal and immunocompetent cells.

    The biocompatibility of the investigational product is assessed as part of the experiment:

    • effect on cell viability (toxicity)
    • influence on the proliferative activity of cells (doubling rate)
    • determination of phenotypic changes in cells (phenotype))
    • quantification of growth factors and cytokines produced by cells

    Methods in use:

    • Cell phenotype at each seeding/transfection (flow cytofluorimeter)
    • Cell counting at each seeding/transfer
    • Photo documentation of cells
    • Giemsa staining
    • Luminescence microscopy
    • Scanning electron microscopy
    • Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay
    • Cell activity study on a spectrophotometer

  • Study at tissue and organismal levels (in vivo)

    Study on white laboratory rats (number, sex, weight to be agreed on separately).

    Methods in use:

    • General and extended blood chemistry
    • NBT test
    • Luminescence microscopy
    • Electron microscopy
    • General morphological research methods

  • Studies of any complexity on a three-laser flow cytofluorimeter

    This is an instrument that allows rapid assessment of cell population composition by fluorescence and optical characteristics of cells. It can be used to determine the absolute and relative number of cells of different populations and subpopulations. The cytofluorimeter can analyse both fixed and living cells with a diameter ranging between 0.5 µm and 40 µm.

    Medical and biological studies examine samples prepared from the cells of:

    • bone marrow;
    • blood;
    • cerebrospinal fluid (ceneurolymph);
    • synovial (joint) fluid;
    • pleural fluid;
    • peritoneal (ascitic) fluid that accumulates in the abdominal cavity during the development of ascites;
    • tumour and healthy tissues.

  • Provision of services on processing of adipose tissue with further isolation of stromal-vascular cells and their use in the treatment of osteoarthritis

  • Provision of services for biobanking of adult adipose tissue (bioinsurance)

TOPICS OF R&D WORKS CARRIED OUT ON THE PREMISES OF THE DEPARTMENT

  1. Development of innovative technology in rehabilitation and scientific justification of the application of bioactive bioplastic material based on a soluble form of stabilised extracellular matrix for reconstructive and restorative surgery.
  2. Development of innovative technology and scientific substantiation of the application of low-intensity physical factors to enhance the regenerative potential of the stromal-vascular fraction of adipose tissue in the experiment on the animal model of a thermal burn.
  3. Development of technology and scientific substantiation of application of innovative technique for correction of biomarkers of aging.
