Accreditation of specialists

Specialist accreditation is an independent procedure performed in order to determine whether a person with medical or pharmaceutical education meets the requirements for qualification as a medical/pharmaceutical professional in accordance with professional standards for independent practice in the medical care or pharmaceutics.

Methodological accreditation and simulation centre organizes primary specialized accreditation for the following specialities:

  • • Physical and rehabilitative medicine
  • • Health care management and public health
  • • Exercise therapy and sports medicine
  • • Physiotherapy
  • • Manual therapy
  • • Reflexotherapy

Primary specialized accreditationis accreditation of persons who have completed higher qualification training programmes (residency programmes) and additional professional programmes (professional re-training programmes).

The primary specialized accreditation of a specialist is performed by consecutive passing of two stages by the person undergoing the following accreditation:
  • • Testing
  • • Practice-oriented stage, including an OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) and case studies (“Physical and rehabilitative medicine only“) and “Health care management and public health”

The accreditation subcommittee evaluates the result of passing the specialist's accreditation stage as "passed" or "not passed". The accredited person is admitted to the next stage of specialist's accreditation if the result of the previous stage is assessed as "passed".

The website of the Methodological centre for accreditation of specialists n the section "Primary specialized accreditation (residency, additional professional training)" informs you about all the assessment tools that will be used in the accreditation procedure for your speciality, as well as to take a rehearsal examination. You can use the official application of the MedEdTech of the Methodological centre for accreditation to prepare for tests and case.

Important! The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation advises that, in accordance with Article 69 of the Federal Law of 21.11.2011No. 323-ФЗ "On the bases of health protection of citizens in the Russian Federation", the right to engage in medical activity in the Russian Federation is granted to persons who received medical or other education in the Russian Federation and underwent specialist accreditation. A person is considered to be accredited as a specialist when the specialist's accreditation is uploaded into the Uniform State Health Information System (USHIS).
